The JUMP rabbit JUMP name came to us accidentally. We never had any interest or gave any thought towards rabbits. Minna's daughter was born in Prague and her surname is translated to "Little Hare." We didn't give this any thought at the time. A few years later we bought two male rabbits as pets. The two males :-O gave birth to 8 baby rabbits. Not knowing what to do with all these jumping bunnies Minna started making a photo series with the rabbits hooking up. The first image was a single rabbit "Waiting", the second image was "Dating" and finally "Mating." We took the rabbit idea and decided to call our company JUMP rabbit JUMP, for the love of our clients, who have us jumping through hoops with deadlines and requests! We wouldn't have it any other way! Thus, JUMP rabbit JUMP was born.
MEET THE HEAD RABBIT
Minna Pyyhkala was born under the magical northern lights of Finland. Often described as a dark, heavy and deeply isolated country, the artist seems to carry forth the traditional mood of her native country in her work (but adds her own unique and quirky sense of style and subtle humor). As a child, Pyyhkala immigrated to the United States. She grew up in Boston, Massachusetts and later moved to New York City. At the age of 23, she returned to Europe and lived in Prague until 2011 at which point she fell in love and moved back to Boston.
Minna has worked primarily as a commercial and fine art photographer over the past 20 years. She has exhibited in Japan, Finland, Germany, Austria, Poland, Prague and the USA and has had several art residencies abroad. One of the latest exhibitions which featured her work and which she curated herself was staged in partnership with Amnesty International and the Czech Ministry of Defense. She also taught very successful art photo workshops in Prague for 10 years.
Artist and owner of Criminal Hearts Clothing.
